Side-by-side performance comparisons

How to use it
- 1
Choose a comparison
Open Advanced Analytics and select Side-by-side, then Periods, Strategies or Accounts. Instrument, direction and type filters above apply. The comparison has its own date controls.
- 2
Set the two cohorts
Period presets compare the latest 7, 30 or 90 days of eligible saved history with the previous equally sized period. Custom ranges include both endpoints. Strategies use saved links and explicit labels; accounts use saved broker account IDs. Unassigned records remain labelled.
- 3
Read coverage first
Each cohort shows eligible and excluded records, sample size and R coverage. Missing results, closing dates, currency conversions or future closes are excluded from P&L. Small samples are marked.
- 4
Compare the charts
Align cumulative realised P&L by closed trade number or calendar closing date. Switch outcome and R charts between percentages and counts. R charts require original recorded risk; missing risk is not estimated.
- 5
Review behaviour evidence
Automatic behaviour tags compare re-entry and risk candidates and explicit journal-note reports. Dismissed tags stay excluded. Open Discipline Review for evidence and corrections.
- 6
Inspect contributing trades
Expand either cohort’s trade list and open a trade chart to inspect the saved result and fills. Overlapping periods are labelled because the same trade can contribute to both cohorts.
Understanding the data
- All saved journal history is loaded before filtering. IG bot account balances and open-position valuation are not included.
- Cumulative P&L starts at zero within each cohort. It is not an account equity curve, return percentage or deposit-adjusted balance.
- Currency reporting uses stored journal FX where needed. Rate coverage and date are shown in Advanced Analytics; conversions are not execution-date FX.
- Trade-number curves end at each cohort’s last result. Calendar curves carry known cumulative P&L only between the first and last closes.
- A minus B differences are descriptive. Different sample sizes, instrument mixes, risk and market conditions can explain differences.
- Behaviour tags overlap and are candidates or self-reports. A cohort without tags is not proven disciplined. AI note analysis may still be processing.
Common questions
Why is only one account available?
Only saved broker account IDs establish separate accounts. Imported records without an account ID remain unassigned; the comparison does not invent an account.
Why is the R chart empty?
The selected trades need original initial risk in a matching result currency. Historical broker P&L alone cannot establish R.
Can I compare old imports?
Yes. Presets anchor to the latest eligible saved close, and custom dates let you choose older periods.
