Private mentor workspaces

Choose the trades, annotated playbooks and weekly notes a mentor can review, discuss individual items privately and agree on process goals with revocable access.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Create an accepted connection

Open Community → Mentorship. Find someone who has listed themselves as available and select Request mentorship. Introduce yourself and your learning goals. The mentor accepts the request from Your connections. To offer mentorship, use Manage mentor profile and enable your availability.

  2. 2

    Open the private workspace

Select Open private workspace beside an active connection, or choose the Private workspace tab and select your connection. The person who requested mentorship owns the shared history; the mentor reviews it. Accepting a connection alone does not share account records.

  3. 3

    Choose exactly what to share

As the history owner, select Choose what to share. Use Trades, Playbooks or Weekly reviews, search your records and tick the individual items you want reviewed. The selector loads all your saved records and paginates them. Click Save sharing selection to apply the changes.

  4. 4

    Review records and annotated charts

Use the workspace’s Trades, Playbooks and Reviews tabs. Trades show saved entry/exit prices, times, quantity, P&L and notes. Playbooks include rules and chart examples with numbered annotations. Weekly reviews show the selected saved checklist and private notes. Underlying records are read-only in this workspace.

  5. 5

    Discuss a specific item

Select Discuss this item beside a trade, playbook, chart example or weekly review. In Discussion, check Attach comment to, write your feedback and select Post private comment. Workspace-level comments are also available. Comments stay inside the workspace; this does not send an email.

  6. 6

    Agree on a process goal

In Goals, enter a title and optional details, then select Propose goal. The proposing person agrees first; the other selects Agree to goal. Once both have agreed, either can Mark completed or Reopen. Completion is recorded manually.

  7. 7

    Change or revoke sharing

To remove an individual record, open Choose what to share, untick it and save. Revoke access blocks your mentor’s new reads of the whole workspace. To grant access again, save a sharing selection while the mentorship connection is still active.

Understanding the data

  • Only the selected records are shared. Sharing a complete playbook includes its rules, notes, screenshots, examples and annotations. Review image contents and notes before selecting it. Sharing a weekly review includes its private notes.
  • Shared content reflects its current saved version. Editing a selected record in your own journal can change what your mentor sees on refresh. Access does not give the mentor permission to edit your underlying journal records.
  • Chart images are served through authenticated private requests. A linked trade identifier is omitted when that trade is not selected, but an uploaded image or note may still contain trade information.
  • Trade P&L is shown in its recorded currency. The workspace does not add together amounts from different currencies. Outcome charts use only the selected closed trades with recorded results, not the account’s full performance.
  • Removing an item hides its attached comments; selecting that item again makes those comments visible again. Both participants can comment and propose goals while the workspace is active.
  • Workspace access refreshes on focus, manual refresh and periodically while the page is visible. Revocation blocks new requests, but cannot withdraw information that someone has already seen or saved.
  • Goals are process agreements, not orders or automated broker actions. Marking a goal complete is a human record, not evidence of a measured trading improvement.

Common questions

Why is my workspace empty?

First request or accept a mentorship connection. The history owner must then explicitly select records and save the sharing selection. No records are shared automatically. A mentor will also see an unavailable workspace if access has been revoked.

Can I share only a few trades?

Yes. Choose individual trade rows and save the selection. All saved history is available to search and select, with pagination. You do not need to expose the rest of your account.

Can a mentor change my trades or screenshots?

No. This workspace gives read-only access to selected history and chart examples. The mentor can add comments and participate in goals, but cannot edit the underlying prices, P&L, playbooks or weekly notes.

Does revoke delete the mentorship connection?

No. It disables access to the private workspace. The existing connection remains, and the history owner can grant workspace access again by saving a selection.

What if sharing changed in another window?

A conflicting save is rejected. Refresh the workspace, then select Reload saved selection to replace your draft with the saved choices. Review your selection again before saving.
